A great Aussie family business

Pros

I work in the office and it has had a great injection of energy. People generally want to be here and we have some great initiatives. We have new showroom openings in new countries so gaining some good experience. My colleagues are friendly. Great office space and we get free breakie and snacks each day.

Cons

Flexibility is important to me and would prefer more hybrid options, 1 day from home is not enough.

Pros

Great brand and craftsmanship. Custom fabric choices and design. Current CEO has more positive energy and ideas. (CEO previous was a terrible human)

Cons

Everything! Terrible management, toxic showroom team and office in general, no strategy support, loads of toe steppers, no admirable leadership.

Not what they claim to be

Pros

I cannot fault the great employees at the base of this business, they are all amazing, hard working and incredible people. They keep the business running from the bottom with little recognition, respect or value.

Cons

This business was once a thriving family environment where everyone knew everybody’s names, there was laughter and respect, reward and recognition. The senior managers of every department were incredible people who valued their teams and knew the business well. Unfortunately those days are long gone, despite them advertising roles with a “family feel”. I believe this business no longer places value on the incredible staff they have, causing many long term staff to leave the business. Some new senior managers no longer take the time to get to know their teams or advocate for their needs. They are swiftly moving away from hybrid working despite employees advising this is not what they need for a work life balance and despite them claiming they still want staff to have flexibility. It is terrible to see what was once a fantastic place to work take such a terrible turn, please keep this in mind when they tell you all the benefits of working for them. It may be right for you, but for many this is simply not a long term healthy role.
