      Utilization-Felder. Like a molting snake, Kleinfelder sheds its skin often with a "new company structure."

      Pros

      Giving my 2-weeks. If you're good at kissing ass, you'll love Kleinfelder. Just keep singing the praises of the "new company structure". Say an enthusiastic YES, no matter how often. This is key to getting on the inside track to the good ol' boys club.

      Cons

      "Share some of the downsides of working at the Kleinfelder Group." Hmm, where do you start? Seeing the admins, enginners, clients and techs getting punked at every turn? Dealing with a stifling bureaucracy that makes it nearly impossible to get work? Getting paid 1/2 to 1/4 of what similar engineering skillsets make in the industry? Attending meeting after meeting while hearing management whine, cry and wail about utilization?

      Pros

      Kleinfelder recognizes effort and takes care of employees. There is a culture of people who care, employees who enjoy working together, and plenty of opportunity to grow if you put in some effort.

      Cons

      Could have better 401k match and bonus program even though they are about average for the industry. Flexibility in work schedule and culture here makes up for some of the benefits that could be better.

      Lack of Work

      Pros

      Good benefits, lunches provided during meetings, people are friendly, good work/life balance

      Cons

      Management and higher staff complain about all the work they have, but have no efficient way of mentoring younger, entry level employees. I guess it's just the office culture. So new, younger, entry level employees - don't expect to be given work. If other offices are not willing to spread out their work to you, then it looks bad on you, your utilization, and performance. It's a shame that other offices aren't willing to share work because they just want to keep their own teams busy...when the team you're working with isn't busy.
