Pros

Great co-workers. Made some great friends along the way. Good starter company if you are looking on pursuing a career in construction management/inspection services.

Cons

Upper Management. The politics you have to deal with are a bit stressful. Very underminding individuals, who use placing fear into their employees as a way to continue practising managment the way that they do without interuptions. They are not for the entry level employees whatsoever, the only people that matter to this company are upper management. Anyone else, they are just a number. They use your utilization against you, when at times it is not your fault that you have no billing hours. You can never get a hold of any supervisors cause they are "too busy". This place is not what it used to be that is a fact.

Pros

i love the people I work with, very focused on career planning and growth, mentoring is important here, they work to be progressive and innovative, growing company, encourage interoffice collaboration so you work on projects around the world, the upper management genuinely cares about the company's future and the employees growth, safety is huge here which is nice

Cons

totally dysfunctional, we restructured 3 years ago and its been a constant chaos ever since, their San Diego headquarters is not held accountable for moving anything quickly or for following through with simple AR requests, a few months back they took away straight time over time, the benefits are awful, lame tuition reimbursement and medical care, no 401K, and the ESOP program hasn't paid out in 3 years, they wouldn't even pay for my PG. this year corporate was 6 months late on releasing our goals and so we had no idea what our utilization targets were half way through the year, just overall its frustrating to work here because the company is so inefficient, there's way too much paperwork, and redundant policies that no one follows.

Pros

It's a healthy mid-size company, with decent benefits and a good work environment. Intra-office and inter-office cooperation is encouraged and recipricated. The company is growing despite a faltering economy. THe annual company sponsured technical seminar facilitates the exchange of ideas between offices within the company.

Cons

The managers use regulations to take advantage of employees sometimes. Salaried employees are often expected to work 60-hour weeks with no compensation. Billability is stressed to the point of absurdity. And this leads to a significant loss of employee morale and employee loyalty. Some managers have missed the boat on keeping up with the newest industry technologies and actively discourage the professional growth or opinions of young employees.
