      Pros

      A colleague of mine put it best - "LONG makes every individual feel like they make a difference". Even though it's a larger company, there is still a very friendly, collaborative environment that doesn't have that "corporate" feel. No company is perfect, but in the short time I've been here I've seen the management staff recognize some areas of growth and improvement and team up to make some changes.

      Cons

      Few opportunities for upward growth as there is very little turnover.

      Pros

      Great people from the top down. Upper management cares about employees. LONG has a good corporate atmosphere, company image, and most of the people that work there make it a good place to work at. All in all it is good workplace that cultivates friendly employee relationships.

      Cons

      My reporting manager played favorites. There is a bit of a "boys club" atmosphere in some places and favoritism can be a problem in some business units. Communication between the business units is not great. Information is hard to get in an expedited manner from some people and business units. My manager did not have a firm grasp of the duties required for my position, which was a serious lapse in competency.

      Pros

      LONG has a great work environment combining good business sense with care for their employees. They have a great commitment to always taking care of the customer, they constantly push the business forward, and value their employees. Despite the size of the company, there are refreshingly few layers of management. The president frequently travels to all the offices, knows just about all of the employees, and many of the customers, across 7 states, and can explain exactly where each business unit is financially and where it needs to change.

      Cons

      There are a few internal processes that need smoothing out, but these are things that I am confident will happen.
