Pros

As a full time employee you are able to enjoy tuition exemption, after one year.

Cons

Nepotism! Some relatives of long time employees are ushered into cushy jobs straight from student worker status. The exorbitant salaries of the school's administration, department heads, and middle managers. Very few individuals of other cultures are promoted upwards. When there are budget cuts, layoffs, etc., managers rewrite their job descriptions to achieve the seemingly impossible: a raise.

Not applicable; I have no pros to report.

Cons

State's economic volatility and LSU's incredible budget problems mean that graduate students are nearly always threatened.
