Pros

My company truly excels at creating a positive and supportive work environment. From the moment you walk in, you'll notice the awesome building and the general sense of a well-maintained and pleasant space. We're lucky to have free snacks readily available, which is a nice perk throughout the day. What really makes the difference, though, are the awesome people you get to work with every day. There's a strong sense of camaraderie, and it's clear that management genuinely cares about its employees. They aren't just saying it; their actions, like keeping employees on even when it's a bit slower, truly demonstrate a commitment to the workforce. This contributes significantly to a feeling of job security, which is a huge relief in today's unpredictable world. The owners also have a deep belief in the product we sell, which creates a passionate and focused company culture. On top of that, we have solid insurance and 401k options, along with quarterly bonuses, showing a good commitment to employee well-being and financial incentives. The company also goes out of its way to foster a strong community with many work events and parties throughout the year, which are always a lot of fun and help build relationships.

Cons

While there's a lot to love, there are definitely areas where the company could improve, primarily around compensation and career growth. The most significant drawback is the low pay and minimal raises. This can be a real struggle financially and makes it difficult to feel like your efforts are being fully valued in the long run. Adding to this, it can be hard to move up within the company. There isn't always a clear path for career progression, which can lead to stagnation for ambitious employees. This, combined with some uncertainty in the future, can create a sense of unease about long-term prospects. Another notable concern, especially in a tech/manufacturing environment, is that manufacturing can feel like second-class citizens. This creates an unfortunate internal divide and can undervalue the critical contributions of a significant portion of the workforce. Finally, the PTO seems a bit low, which can impact work-life balance and make it challenging to take the necessary time off to recharge.
