In a position to be a competitive employer in San Antonio

Pros

Labatt was a good place to learn from some very smart people. Everyone is willing to help and I learned a lot just from talking with other employees. The company was headed in a good direction until some management changes happened. The people who work there have the knowledge and could put the team in a competitive position if they had any power to make changes. Pay is good.

Cons

The culture. Ingrained in the management and some of the employees who have been at the company for a long period of time is the idea that if you’re not in agreement with all of the spoken and unspoken cultural rules and you don’t want to work at Labatt for life, you're an enemy. Once someone leaves, I never heard anyone say good things and assume the same for my situation. Often when something goes wrong, the people who left get the blame. There is great effort put into hiring college grads so they can teach them the Labatt culture before they have the chance to experience anything else.

Lowest pay for biggest routes in the industry.

Pros

Well maintained equipment and fairly new. Most coworkers are pretty nice. Bosses are pretty cool on the local level.

Cons

Lowest pay in the industry. Have to work Saturdays. Have to go on debt for 600 plus dollars on the first day to work there. If you decide that you do not like working there they will keep your last check to cover the stuff that they make you buy. Poor vacation time and you will have to work on most holidays. You will come in most days at 2:30am and work until late afternoon. They hold your last check to make you show up for an exit interview but it does not appear that they do anything to improve from them.

We hate our experienced drivers

Pros

Nothing positive here to write about.

Cons

Treats their experienced drivers like outcasts. Favoritism toward new hires. Promoting inexperienced people and looking past more qualified individuals. Placing blame for others mistakes on certain individuals. Employees with lower positions making more money than those in higher positions. No raise in almost 2 years. Looked down on and treated like they never done anything for the company. You go against their system your days will be numbered. For example we had a manager that treated drivers fairly, they found a way to fire him. No communication to drivers, they keep everything close to the vest. 6 month trainees are being used as "one goes down then we have another to replace him. Got some news for you guys, your main source of business is schools, and the bottom is fixing to fall out. With all the experienced drivers leaving you will have nothing but 6 month guys to run those routes. Good luck with that.
