Pros

The specific location you're at might have a great team dynamic, ours did at one point, but that won't have anything to do with corporate. They also offer a CVT training program, but if you need to stop the program or leave the company you have to buy out of it which costs over $1000.

Cons

If you are a member of the LGBTQIA+ community or life an alternative lifestyle outside of the workplace, you're job will be at risk. I watched this corporation fire a five star, top tier employee because they didn't agree with their lifestyle. They also fired them very publicly, and turned our clinic from the best moral it's ever seen to the absolute worst. Corporate Leaderships behavior has now lead to the rapid exit of nearly all the staff at our location which had been thriving recently, including myself. They're also known for the pay bait-and-switch. They had originally hired me to start at 20 an hour, then when giving me the paperwork to sign, said that corporate only approved 19 but I could get to 20 at my 90 day review. I agreed and then got to see the email from our direct corporate leader saying to fire me and hire someone for less if I asked for the raise. I worked there for over a year with nothing but praise for the work I did, but all this corporation sees are numbers and dollar signs. They say they have values that are important, they list them everywhere, but they don't follow a single one of them. Coworkers who have been in the veterinary field for 20+ years say they have never seen this awful of behavior from a corporation before. Do. Not. Trust. Them.

Unfortunately, we cannot share the details of the situation you are referring to, but Lakefield leadership based its decision on confidential information in order to avoid a hostile work environment, and we stand behind the decision. It saddens us to hear the accusation that Lakefield does not value LGBTQIA+ community. At our company, we strive to foster an inclusive and supportive work culture where every team member feels valued and respected. We believe in open communication channels and encourage employees to share their ideas, concerns, and suggestions without fear of retaliation. Our management team undergoes regular training and development programs to enhance their leadership skills and maintain a positive work environment. We take all feedback seriously and are committed to continually improving our operations and ensuring the best possible environment for our employees.

Pros

Benefits are better than some

Cons

Only focus is on revenue, as long as that is hitting their goals, they ignore all of the signs that a practice is about to implode. Target employees to be forced out of the company without any actual knowledge of the workings of a practice and gut the support staff of a practice. Repeated promises by higher ups that they care deeply and are always available to help with concerns, yet the first and every subsequent time you ask for help, they refuse to respond to either emails or voicemails.

Thank you for sending us your feedback, we value hearing about all employees’ experiences and concerns to help make Lakefield a better place. Our Human Resources department has recently added more staff as well as implemented a new online help system with a 24 hour response time that we hope will address these issues in the future.

Pros

Good pay, flexible work arrangements

Cons

Far too many managers/executives compared to non, unethical treatment of employees who elect to leave, heavy nepo-type behavior from exec leaders.
