Pros

Benefits are good - affordable, good coverage Once you are past your 6-month probationary period, you have amazing job security.

Cons

- Work-life balance flexibility is bad in certain departments - depends on management - Sitting in a cubicle all of the time does not inspire innovation, mental or physical health, or lead to overall job or life satisfaction. - Raises are below cost-of-living increases - Job security allows people to stagnate - hard to innovate when surrounded by stagnation.

Pros

I must enter five words for pro's? There were a few co-workers there that were encouraging and helpful. A few.

Cons

Low Pay and little room for advancement. It's government. People that work are yes men and women that have worked there forever. Unless you want to work somewhere for 10-20 believing in the outside chance that you might move into management when someone dies or leaves the job after 30 years, forget about moving up the ladder.

Government job = good benefits and lots of great people to work with

Cons

Too much bureaucratic red tape, internal advancement nearly impossible. You get easily stereotyped into a position nearly no promotional opportunities
