Dismal, confusing experience as an inexperienced BDR
Pros
Some people in the sales office were open to offering advice when I asked for it. I learned that 65 dials isn’t that many. Nobody coached me on this, I just learned the hard way.
Cons
As a brand new B2B sales rep, I received one week of training about product and sales tactics. Following I received one week of shadowing experienced reps. The training was confusing and had no understanding of who the customer was, why the product was relevant to them, and how to talk to them like people. This is not a company to go to with no experience. They give you a script that takes 12 seconds to read, tell you to read it to everyone you talk to on the phone, and give you no training on how to overcome objections, convey value, timelines for follow-ups and touch points, or what the heck the product actually is. One of the senior reps once said “I wouldn’t want anyone I know to work here.” I agree with their sentiment.
