We appreciate your candid review. Quite a large number of positions filled are by internal staff transferring laterally or being promoted to different positions and/or departments. We do encourage the chain of command when there are issues to be resolved in the department. We have a staff of employee relations specialists who are also there to serve our employees in times of need. They are the neutral party to discuss and resolve issues.

Pros

Good benefits, Good physicians overall Some opportunity for advancement - depending on what area you work in Large system Family friendly Strive to always work to best practices

Cons

Poor pay - does not correlate with market value, only the "hot jobs" i.e. - clinical, IT, etc get relatively competitive pay, otherwise everyone else starts WELL behind the curve. Management at the top doesn't practice what they preach. Top management also does not hesitate to let you know you are always "replaceable". Very difficult to manage personnel & being able to hire & fire employees. Not that it should be easy or not thought out but I have never worked somewhere that made it so difficult & created so much red tape to hire good employees and/or discipline or fire a poor employee in a timely manner.

Thank you for your review. It is unfortunate that you would not recommend Lee Health to colleagues since the majority of staff would. Our compensation rates, combined with our benefits package is very market competitive. Lee Health is one of the largest public, not-for-profit health systems in the country that receives no direct tax support. Our publicly elected Board of Directors decides our compensation practices, including the stance that we may not offer the highest pay. Lee Health strives to have a good balance of patients who are able to pay for their services so that we can care for those patients in our community who are unable to pay. Best wishes in your new position.
