Best choice I made was to join Legacy Health

Pros

There are several positive aspects joining LH. One, the team atmosphere is a strong component of the culture. Each member is a source of information and willing to knowledge-share. Another great characteristic is the work-life balance. Coming from an industry that considers 24/7 access the norm, the balance here at LH has been a breath of fresh air, and I am thankful for it! The benefits are excellent for employees and their families.

Cons

I have not experienced too many negatives as of yet. One has been the ability to adopt new technologies. This is a slow process. However, I have noticed some quicker, more agile areas where the culture's agility is increasing. Another negative is that certain employment entry levels have low salary ranges. The inflexibility regarding salary is a disadvantage against most other industry/market segments. With the flatness of the organization, the opportunity to 'move-up' via title/level to gain the next salary step, are far and few between. This was the one area that made me hesitant to join. If there is a timeliness to salary improvements for these individuals, that will keep attrition lower.

Pros

Stable company, good benefits, growing and moving forward. Growing (recently affiliated with Silverton Health and partnered with Pacific Source) and has a lot of opportunities (Unity Center for Behavioral Health) coming. Good company in my experience for work/life balance.

Cons

Bureaucracy can get in the way of change.

Pros

Kind manager, fun floor, easy going attitudes of coworkers, good patient population, high wages, self scheduling, SO many opportunities to make base rate x 1.9 due to being very short staffed

Cons

older nurses run everything, some bad charges nurses, annoying vacation time process, health insurance covers 0% when not using Legacy
