      Legacy is filled with some truly wonderful professionals, but it is struggling for footing in today's health care world.

      Pros

      Legacy Health has a laudable mission, many dedicated and highly skilled professionals, and a desire to do the right thing in the community. Amazing work happens within the hospital walls every day. The quality of medical care and human caring is high.

      Cons

      Something is off balance about the system's culture. Perhaps it is the result of trying to knit together six hospitals that, in some senses, compete against each other for limited resources. Yet all the hospitals and system office staff are supposed to work together as one unified family. The organization has not yet found a way to make it work. The culture and leadership can be excellent at the hospital level, however, so your job satisfaction can really depend on the site you work.

      It's a job. Salary is competitive, work is interesting, but not a place for professional growth.

      Pros

      Good work/life balance, interesting projects, friendly work atmosphere. Legacy really does care about the community and provides more than it's share of uninsured/charity care.

      Cons

      Support for career development is non-existent. Little opportunity for advancement. Training of IT personnel and users of the system is done at initial implementation, but little if any training in subsequent years or after system upgrades.
