Pros

Good people to work with and an opportunity to help both individuals and communities.

Cons

The company values productivity statistics over wisdom. The older nurse who might be a bit slower will make up for it in wisdom and judgement. I was with this company from 1995 to 2000, then from 2003 until 2023, at which point I was fired for not meeting productivity. Of course, the managers know how to check all the boxes when it comes to the process of firing and over the last 6 to 9 months I worked for Legacy, I was moved from position to position with different protocols and workflows in each. I stayed in close contact with my manager, faced each change with optimism, did my best to keep up, and was reassured by my manager that my position was safe. My biggest mistake was not getting every promise in writing. I trusted. Finally, when in the final placed in the final position, I tried my best to improve my productivity to meet expectations. I even asked for additional training from a nurse who was meeting productivity expectations, which wasn't given. Interestingly, while my manager was firing me, she acknowledged that I had met productivity goals over the last week, but she was still firing me. What I knew was that the day shift was a nurse long and the manager needed to let someone go. I suspect that since I was nearing the top of my pay scale and since there was no union to represent me - I was fired! It made good business sense. My advice for any nurse who thinks she will finish her career with Legacy - watch your back.

Health benefits are pretty good - affordable w/ great cost coverage

Cons

Leadership is very disconnected and poorly organized; sold lab services to a for-profit monopoly
