Pros

Benefits are better than rural/ smaller surroundings counties within 150 miles.

Cons

Unfair background experience practices, for internal positions. They only consider experience with the company making it impossible for internal promotions unless you are chosen by the managers, No HR follow-up with bonified compliance complaints. Require those not chosen to take on additional duties from those who are-- high turnover.

Pros

Working in a library is fun - meet lots of people, no fines on materials, and benefits even for part-timers!

Cons

Annual Reviews are odd - the ranking of a 2 says you are doing what is expected of you and the only ranking higher is a 3, which says you are doing perfect at your job - no in-between. Management pressure asks that very few 3's be given, so accuracy is out the window. I know someone who has been there over 10 years and she is still not getting all 3's - and who would (who is perfect?), but after 10 yrs, you really should have a way of showing that you are better than a 2 - on all questions.
