Pros
Great coworkers, very fair starting pay for a dietitian, good team of dietitians (though turnover is high), company is very prompt and structurally organized, electronic charting system, relatively flexible schedule that will work around doctor's appointments, etc. Discounted and affordable cafeteria meals.
Cons
PTO accrues very slowly (~16 days off per year for a FT employee). Only three holidays (Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and New Years Day) and as a non-essential personnel, we were required to take PTO those days. Micromanaging administration. Schedule changed from flexible to rigid (we had to clock-in 5 minutes before or after our scheduled clock-in time). Poor food quality and many missing items on trays, leading to endless resident complaints. Required to attend time-consuming events (care plan meetings, wound rounds, weight meetings, soon-to-be clinical rounds, etc.). Also required to call a resident's responsible party after making any change in a resident's diet or supplements. Lots of pressure from administration on the chief clinical dietitian. Always lots of on-going changes. High turnover in the nutrition services department and in the kitchen.
