Pros

Fun working environment when working with store level employees, great product, and a easy to learn. Custom is probably the best part of the job.

Cons

Micro-management is out of control. Constant phone calls when not on the clock or on PTO, but pin it on that you are a Store Manager and should always answer. But that is not okay when you aren't on salary. Inadequate upper management who haven't been on a sales floor in years. Too much tasking to do when customers are #1 priority but get in trouble for not finishing tasking. Pay is not that good compared to the work being done. Hours are long, some times working multiple open to closes. Staffing is difficult and don't receive much help from upper management when it comes to staffing, ended up running the store with just 1 other employee once and not an eye was batted to help. Advancement is easy at store level, but once you hit store manager it is very difficult to rise up. The routes are very difficult to get unless you have been with the company forever. Would like to see the route into Custom or LP changed so some aren't forced to become store managers when that isn't what they want to do.

Pros

The discount (40%) is great, and generally speaking your co workers are usually fun. I have found that moving up to management can be done very quickly. I went from sales associate to PT asst manager with just 2 months, and in another 6 months I was a FT asst manager with benefits and bonuses. If you are willing to actually do your job and are good at selling/helping people it can be very easy for you.

Cons

Unfortunately sometimes it can be a bit too easy to move up and some people are in positions they definitely don’t deserve to be. I mean I worked with someone who was at least 20-60 late EVERY day, called off every time there was a big boxing match or sports game and was just lazy all around and he was a store manager. They also do not pay your worth at all. I used to go back and forth to other store locations to help out other managers, worked on days I needed off, and was always a yes type of person and my wage is terrible, just barely above minimum wage. Also I wish the DMs wouldn’t just straight ignore and neglect stores, they never wanted to answer any questions or needs we had but the second our sales dropped we would have emails/phone calls/store visit constantly. I personally just got very fed up with lids which is why I am no longer there.
