      Pros

      40% Discount at all Genesco stores, Limited Supervision, Relatively Fun if your store has an embroidery machine, as it allows creativity. Interacting with customers in my age bracket.

      Cons

      Stressful at times, And it is as if they expect you to be in the store 24/7 so that nothing comes up missing, which is impossible. Constant change of policies and procedures and the pressure to always keep your "numbers" up or risk being passed over for a promotion.

      Good starting point for retail management.

      Pros

      It is a company with many locations so it is pretty easy to get into a management position not long after being hired. I watched an employee go from seasonal to Assistant Manager within a year.

      Cons

      Pay is on the low side no matter what position you have from seasonal to Store Manager but considering the work you do it is not bad.
