Pros

Flexibility in schedule, collaboration/community with peers, being part of growth and positive change, doing what I love every day and seeing people make changes in their lives.

Cons

Sometimes knee jerk implementation of policies/practices, constant bombardment of national demands without really providing the tools to integrate into daily practices, the EHR sucks.

Pros

Payment system well connected with insurers.

Cons

Our clinic was acquired by Lifestance last year. Upon integration they rolled out weekly billing and consult minimums that required aggressive and questionable clinical practices (ie. expedited and cursory patient consultations, pushing patients for excessive follow-ups and unnecessary ongoing visits, etc.). It felt like a churn operation. I found this ethically dubious and not in the best interest of my patients. Several us left for these reasons. I understand the financial incentives but Lifestance is clearly taking it too far and needs to recalibrate its system of care.
