Pros

Learned a tiny fraction about photography

Cons

They expect you to have your photos in by 10am the day after you shoot them. Which means if you’re out at an event until midnight, you have to get up early to turn them in, go home, and then return again in the evening for your next shift. When I put my two weeks in they fired me on the spot.

Pros

Working with some talented photographers ( their outside photography passion) Learn a few portrait tips. Time off when schools are off. Make it pass the laid off slips, you get 3 weeks off in December 1 week training Your breaks are when there is a gap between classes.

Cons

Seasonal employment Shotty equipment 30 minutes lunch School staff are demanding and inconsiderate You don't get notified when a school cancels and you show up Lead photographers make the same as a newbie photographer Carry the set in your personal vehicle, it weighs causing more wear and tear . Company not responsible for damages to your vehicle if broken into to steal the equipment . Hourly pay is low No health insurance

Pros

—You work early and get off early. —No weekends.

Cons

—Seasonal —No health/dental/vision insurance unless you work a certain amount of hours (and they’ll make sure you don’t) ...don’t get sick —Low pay for tiring work...hauling heavy equipment sometimes up and down stairs-through small spaces; setting it up and taking it down; taking it in and out your car... so much fun in cold weather —Wear and tear on vehicle and the pay is not worth that —Forcing kids to smile; little room for creativity This is a job if you just really WANT to do it. Or for people that have no skills. They’ll hire anyone willing to do it.
