Pros

There aren't a lot of pros for this place.

Cons

When you get a job here, you're offered starting pay that is not competitive (despite the fact that they say it is), and you're instructed not to talk about your salary with your coworkers or you *will* get fired. That's because Lighthouse does not like to follow the rules. This company has a long history of shady business, poor human resources division, and nepotism (hiring friends over people who are qualified). The environment here is toxic and the turn-over rate is high because they either burn you out (they told me if I wasn't working a 60-hour week I wasn't pulling my weight), or pin the blame on a client-facing mistake on you and fire you so the board of directors is satisfied. They don't have a single shred of ethics. DO NOT WORK HERE IF YOU VALUE YOUR EMOTIONAL AND MENTAL HEALTH.

Pros

So many smart, talented, friendly people to work with every day trying to accomplish the same goal. Chances are if you don't know something, somebody else does and they are more than willing to help out.

Cons

- Lighthouse just acquired H5 less than a year ago. If you are on a team or are joining a department as a new employee or transfering and your new team meets any of the following criteria just be ready for hell on earth: -You've been promised high growth potential or opportunities for advancement -They are trying to consolidate with the other side (LH or H5) -They are growing quickly (either in terms of revenue which only stakeholders see the real benefit from around here, or an increase in headcount on the team, or an advancement in a certain technology) I am telling you to RUN because IT is going to get run like a total startup until people know what the hell they're doing. There will be no structure, organization, work/life balance, sanity, opportunities to vent, etc. - Questions get asked about your mental status if anyone is curious. I'm pretty sure that's illegal, but I'm pretty sure they've found some loophole - Management will lie to you and also play favorites - Hustle culture. If you feel like working 14 hour days this is definitely the place for you. And if not, expect to be looked at funny if you are in a department that promotes, encourages and demands that sort of mentality

Pros

Remote work Strong technical challenges that were fun to solve

Cons

Replacing IT staff with resources in India Speak up about this and you get laid off No raises for years No backfill on positions Job salary not matching going rates in the domestic market Management is sketchy as hell now. Profit is the single motivator at the company. You can make plenty, if not more, profit by treating your employees with respect and having a mutually beneficial relationship, but management doesn't want this. They are pursuing short term profits at the expense of everyone in the company. Health insurance here is a joke, you're extra screwed if you need to cover your entire family.
