Making a difference

Pros

Our employees are the best thing about LES. I work with some highly talented, driven individuals. We have great benefits, a good culture, opportunities to give back to our community, and the chance to develop as professionals. We work on some cool projects. As an employee, we all have a chance to make a difference for our customers.

Pros

The benefits (matching 401k and insurance) are the only reason for any longevity with this employer.

Cons

The management has a false sense of superiority that permeates throughout, but they are easily threatened by intelligence and innovation. The HR department is simply a cover for the administration’s heavy hand. The upper management micro-manages and rules (not leads) through intimidation and overt threats. This is not a forward-thinking company, but rather one where you are expected to do as told. The majority of employees feel unappreciated.

Terrible Culture

Pros

Retirement match is great. Health care is reasonable. Some employees are able to work flex schedules.

Cons

The executive staff is completely out of touch and self-absorbed. Their heads are stuck in the sand about the terrible culture. Managers put themselves above their workers and micro-manage and take credit for employees work. The service center location is better because it is the operation people and they aren't as bad. The LEB downtown has a terrible culture. Financial Services and Customer Services are terrible divisions to work for. The egos with the execs and managers at the LEB are inflated. Half the employees spend little or no time working and management doesn't do anything about them and says that other employees should use peer pressure to fix the problem instead of them having to manage. The employees that do take pride in their job, for whatever reason, are usually micro-managed to the point that they stop caring. Don't take any complaints to HR or the ethics committee, they don't care and won't help.
