Pros

Incredible team. People are smart, nice, and hard working. Very little politics. People genuinely want to help each other solve problems. We're still continually changing and evolving, not resting on our past successes. Lots of growth opportunities.

Cons

Not a lot of well defined structure. That works well for some but others can struggle to find their way.

Pros

I work on the Infrastructure platoon at LiveRamp. We are one of five groups that make up Engineering. I am very happy here for a number of reasons: 1. No politics - Decisions are made quickly and based on technical and business reasons. 2. Transparency - Everyone's opinions are on the table and you don't have to guess around their motivations. 3. Organization - The company is operated as a separate business unit from Acxiom and we do what's best for our own product delivery with full support from the mothership. It's how every acquisition should be structured. 4. Teammates - Everyone works hard and wants to do the right thing. When we hire, we pay a lot of attention to cultural and personality fit. 5. Nature of work - We get to play with giant Hadoop clusters and design/deploy the latest technologies like K8s in the course of solving our business problems. I wanted to work at LiveRamp because it's a sweet spot for me. A startup at heart that remains independent with the financial backing of an enterprise.

Cons

It takes a significant amount of time to hire because we look for the needle in the haystack. This means roles are left unfilled for long periods of time.

Pros

1. LR gives you responsibilities from the get-go. There isn't a time when you feel like you're bored or not contributing to the company in some way 2. LR gives you the liberty to pursue passion projects, whether that means implementing a new software to increase efficiency, creating a standardized workflow, learning a new coding language, etc. 3. LR does not believe in seniority over merit (one of the main reasons I left my previous SaaS company). Everyone who is interested in a responsibility is given an equal opportunity to own it 4. LR is fun! Everyone is excited to hang out with coworkers in and out of the office 5. LR believes in growing leaders, not hiring outside managers - this means that there are great opportunities for employees to move up in the company

Cons

1. Employees based in the NY office have a harder time keeping up with updates and getting support. I often have to wait hours or days between the time I ask a question and I get a response 2. Things take a long time to get done - whether I'm trying to implement a new software, make updates to our UI or roll out new processes to clients, there seems to be a lot of politics/bureaucracy in place

Thanks so much for sharing insight about how things are here at LiveRamp. We are always keeping our ear to the ground to learn more about how we can improve your day to day especially in regards to communication between offices. As always, we'll be taking this feedback and working to implement processes to offer more support between our different locations. Always happy to chat in person as well. Feel free to reach out to the recruiting/HR pod if you would like to chat about it more and thank you for your contribution!
