Fun and challenging place to work

Pros

Smart and good people, flexibility in schedule, autonomy, travel, working on strategic projects.

Cons

We need more junior resources that actually can help with tactical things and for people to be more technical in general. Many people overall seem a bit overworked. A lot of operational issues that waste our time. Takes too long to hire people. Roles and responsibilities are very grey. Some of these pains are understandable at a company scaling so quickly but I’m afraid if we don’t address this we’ll burnout current teams who unfortunately have a lot of tribal knowledge that could negatively impact strategic partners in their departure.

Thanks so much for this review. I'm glad that you're having a good experience overall, and I'm equally glad that you've highlighted areas where we can get better. It'd be great to talk through these challenges. On hiring speed, for example: While the data looks strong overall, I'd love to hear about your experience and any outliers we should address. All that to say: Coffee or lunch on me? - Brandon

SF Teammate - Thanks a lot for this review. I'm glad that you've had a great experience at LiveRamp over the last few years. We're where we are today because of vets like you. To your points about hiring and red tape: Those are both important topics, in part because your experience differs from what we're known for. I'd love to hear more about what you're seeing so we can learn and get on top of it. Coffee on me! - Brandon

Thanks for your feedback and I can understand your frustration. We compete in a fast-moving space and we act quickly to respond to market opportunities. When coupled with LiveRamp's culture of autonomy, independence, and speed, our response and operations could come across as disorganized. We'd like to maintain our ability to move quickly while containing the chaos, and hope that you'll help the team where you can. P.S. I subsequently found this quote from an early Amazon engineer that resonated: "In my experience, innovation can only come from the bottom. Those closest to the problem are in the best position to solve it. I believe any organization that depends on innovation must embrace chaos." http://glinden.blogspot.com/2006/04/early-amazon-shopping-cart.html
