- The company is constantly changing direction, be prepared to have a completely different role in 3-4 months - Leadership manages using fear and manipulation, transparency is punished despite it being a "core value". - Middle Management consists of early-stage employees with little experience outside of Locus. They mostly want to do their best, but their lack of experience makes them easy for the C-suite to push around. Expect to be disappointed by their leadership. - The CEO is not a scientist and does not have a science background, but makes wild sweeping directives for changes to ongoing scientific efforts. Decisions are made based on gut feeling even if strong data say otherwise. - The company prefers to take on new initiatives rather than make simple changes that could have major improvements. The company evaluates success as X number of hours worked or X number of experiments done, but they do not think carefully about which experiments to do. There is a lot of wasted effort.

Work hard, work hard culture with no work-life balance and a high employee turnover rate. The pay is mediocre for the long and stressful hours required to be "successful" here.
