Pros

Gave it two stars because my coworkers were the best ever. Pay and benefits were pretty good.

Cons

I worked in the cell therapy department where you would get stuck in a Grade B suite anywhere from 4-8 hours. Most often you went over your 4 hour time limit. I also took the job assuming my week would be four 10 hour days but they quickly became 12-16 hour days. Poor working habits, redundant and boring job, management was sort of okay but higher ups were horribly out of touch with their employees and altogether how to treat humans.

Pros

Small site encourages close interactions with colleagues. Easy parking. Reasonable pay.

Cons

The R&D team as well as the QC team would be the best options for those seeking employment at Lonza RTP. The Production team is best described as poorly managed. The management are disconnected from the staff and lack clear and effective communication. The training strategies have room for significant improvement and the technicians all feel extremely undervalued when compared to other departments. There are constant issues with the facilities. The labs are a crowded and disorganized space to work in. Employees are expected to commit to way too much overtime with little to no work-life balance. High turnover rate in production and employee dissatisfaction. Benefits could be better (United HealthCare is an issue as they have reduced coverage).
