Pros

You do get to work with some people that share a lot of the same interests, which makes the job a little less miserable.

Cons

Oh my oh my where do I begin... First and foremost, management. Management is probably the largest problem at this branch. I don't know what it's like at other branches but the management here is incomprehendably horrible! Every level of management, from the ATM manager, the route/scheduling manager, loss prevention manager, so on and so forth, all the way up to the GM, nobody has a clue whats going on. Anytime you ask for time off, be prepared to give a REALLY good explanation as to why you need time off. Even then he tries to make you feel bad for asking anything. And when they tell you "family comes first", they're just blowing smoke up your (you know what). They couldn't care less about the employee's family or feelings for that matter. Keep in mind all managers here have egos bigger than the world itself. The GM himself thinks all employees are lower than dirt and makes it well known. This company is VERY top heavy. Way too many managers and all of them don't know what's going on. Another big problem are their stupid PDAs. Half the managers don't know how to use them or fix them. And they're constantly breaking or not working. Our job revolves around these things and the fact that they buy unreliable equipment and don't maintain them makes the job miserable and frustrating. The trucks are constantly in need of work. The mechanics definition of a repair involves bailing wire and tape. Not exactly safe... Pay is not great either. For a job where (lets be honest here) the threat of being robbed or killed or both is constantly increasing, getting paid anywhere from 10.50 - 13.00 and hour, on top of the working conditions, do not really make this a very desirable job. Let me be clear, the job WAS actually fun and enjoyable BEFORE Loomis bought out the company I worked for before. Now they have turned the whole job into and aggravating chore. This place is demoralizing and a complete joke (actually no one here finds it funny). They are constantly making new policies that have no real use in the real world, and sometimes put their own employees at more risk. They actually hinder our abilities to effectively do our jobs. If you love horrible work environments and bad management then this is the place for you!

Pros

Can sit and be on phone while processing money

Cons

Internal theft, they allow harassment from upper management as well as a lot of cover ups for inside jobs between management and vault workers. CMS teller leads will harass, bully and lie.

Pros

I can only speak for the Atlanta Branch, but that branch has some awesome managers and workers. My co-workers were the best and were the only reason I stayed for 2 years.

Cons

First, I have been working at Loomis for 2 years so my comment about this company is based on 2 full years of observation. There is no diversity on the upper management team. They all consist of older, white men and it has been that way for 30 years. There has been no person of color or woman that has ever been in the upper management position (i.e. CEO, CFO) in this company. Loomis has no problem reserving these better paying jobs to white men but throw all their women and people of color at the bottom with the low wages, and there is no upward mobility. So, they have systematically designed this discriminatory system in place to keep minorities at the bottom, and I believe they do that to offset the high turnover rate (Loomis has the worst turnover rate that I have seen and this is coming from someone with 15+ years of retail experience----Loomis' turnover rate is worse than most major retail organizations) because they can always find a woman or a person of color to throw at the bottom but these same people will never move up to attain the higher paid positions. Trash company. Second, LOOMIS is an antiworker establishment. That means that they put their bottom line over their workers at ALL cost. I have never seen a company that goes out of its way to shaft its workers. From picking the cheapest and worst health insurance for us (Loomis' medical benefits is trash, just like the company) to shafting us on the pay and the hours that we are paid. I was paid $13 per hour to count millions of dollars a day. Does that sound right to you? $13/hr does not cover the accountability and the liability that comes with counting such large amounts of money, and we were not getting 40 hours per week (another shaft). We were lucky if we got 30 hours that week, as Loomis does not like paying its workers overtime because that would be time and a half (in the state of Georgia). Most of my co-workers had to get 2nd jobs because the amount of money that we were paid compounded with the limited amount of hours we were getting did not cover basic living expenses in Atlanta (or anywhere). I left the company recently to attend school and notice that they took my paid sick time (that was given to me) from my final pay check. What company do you know does that? If you decide to leave the company and you have taken sick time or personal time anytime throughout the year, Loomis will get that back (another shaft) in your final paycheck. Loomis will always find a way to get its money back from its workers; they simply do not value us enough not to. When I left, I was given no exit interview. They never asked me my input on my experience working at this company. In fact, as a worker, they will never ask you for your input or feedback on anything. Most companies ask for their workers' feedback on a regular, sometimes daily basis to improve the working experience. Not Loomis. Because they do not care. Workers are not valued at this company. We are a means to an end because at the end of the day we will just be replaced by another person. Don't get me wrong, most companies are like that too but they, at least, try to make their workers not feel that way by improving the working experience. Most companies have realized that their future is in their workers. So, these companies have stepped up their investments on their workers. Amazon gave their workers $3 dollar raises, and you can pretty much get your entire college tuition paid for by Starbucks. Loomis has done none of those things. At the end of the day, this is all about sustainability. Your workers are your future, and Loomis (as a whole), simply has not invested in its workers, and because of that, I do not believe in this company's future. I give Loomis about 5 more years before it really folds into acquisition. You can see this in their stock value. I would not recommend any of my personal friends to invest stock in this company because the stock value is horrible and this company has no future. That being said, if you plan to work here, make it temporary. Use this company to get to somewhere better because they are better out there.
