Pros

It's a job with decent salary. It will probably make your next job seem much better.

Cons

The atmosphere there is just cold and stiff. I don't even want to think about it. The upper management there and some others think they are so great when they really don't have much going for them...

Pros

pays the bills. lets me come to work every day. I get a half hour lunch. I could participate in a 401k if they paid enough

Cons

hometime = none. emplyees are an expense and treated as such. they don't want you to have a family and if you do they don't want you to be able to care for them. The only business ethic they have is to make the owner in Canada as much money as possible.

It is unfortunate that you do not feel as though you can participate in Loram's 401k program, as it is one of the top programs in the country. Loram has a 150% matching program. If you believe that you should be paid more, I suggest that you speak with your Union Representative, as your pay is negotiated by your union. The contract is renewed every 3 years. Since you state that you are a shop worker at Loram, you would be working on one of the two shifts we have: 7am-3pm or 3:30pm-11:30pm. Overtime work is typically optional, with occasional mandatory overtime required. Again, if this is something you don't like - speak with your union, as they are the ones who negotiated the hours of work for you.

Pros

You get the hotel and airline points

Cons

Will hire you for one department, then "disband" that department, in order to fill other rolls at less pay.
