Pros

Cutting edge technology. Industry leading 520 mile vehicle range

Cons

The company is more focused on its public image vs actually taking care of its employees. Leadership expects you to work 7 days a week and seldom appreciates employees who go above and beyond. A lot of team members were laid off two weeks ago yet the company has not acknowledged it as a layoff in order to again, protect the public perception. Many in my own team are becoming worried as some of those individuals that were laid off had just days to go before their 1st year stock vesting and they don't want to end up in that same situation.

Pros

Overall teammates and employees are fun to work around and easy to get along with. Offered Onsite COVID Shots and boosters. Free snacks in the break-rooms. Stock Options are good and should pan out long term.

Cons

Benefits are average for Bay Area (if not a bit below). No 401K matching; might come in the future but that remains to be seen. Management has too much power and cares more about pleasing their bosses than listening to their employees or focusing on what could make their jobs better. COVID does not seem to be a concern for this company. Yes they do what the CDC recommends but that is it and they have always done everything to toe that line to get workers back into the office. The car is their number one priority, not human safety or being flexible on WFH. Be ready to work most holidays. You don't seem to know if you will have the holiday off until a day or two before the day. Makes making plans very hard, really unprofessional to cancel a holiday on the last minute. This has happened the last few holidays so it's not a one off. You can get trapped working long hours or weekends.

Hubris and Arrogance

Pros

I really can't list much, honestly.

Cons

As another poster wrote, Hubris (/ˈhjuːbrɪs/ from ancient Greek ὕβρις) describes a personality quality of extreme or foolish pride or dangerous overconfidence,[1] often in combination with (or synonymous with) arrogance. The concept of developing a desirable product, which can be manufactured in volume, in order to be sold for a modest profit, doesn't really seem original to me. But the management at Lucid doesn't get it.
