Pros

Evolving from an on-premises offering to the cloud; new focus is on building features that add value instead of unnecessary plumbing Strong product architecture and vision Opportunities to gain hands-on experience with cloud platforms, Kubernetes, microservices, ML modeling, search, and big data Product management has been weak, if not outright incompetent for the past several years; new head of product is bringing in fresh, technical PMs to address product short-comings

Cons

PS consultants lack basic cloud knowledge & skills and prefer whining about change instead of improving their craft Product has too many rough edges, especially in the UI and docs, but leadership is not investing in fixing these issues Bloated Customer success org filled with non-technical people that are in over their head on basic technical concepts; they are glorified meeting schedulers that panic over every issue, there's no buffer between these panicked CS people and the engineering org Product is built on Solr Cloud which is too unstable at scale; company needs to either invest heavily in making Solr more robust or build a better solution for the cloud. The Solr team seems clueless about these issues.

Pros

There are a handful of cool and trustworthy people.

Cons

Run away now, do not consider working here, ever. Major lack of communication that will never be fixed. Company values are trash, no one follows them, including the C levels and HR. You will work 7 days a week and be forced to make up lies to prospects and clients about roadmap features, that do not and will not ever exist, to win new business. Loads of ladder climbers that will stab you in the back at the first opportunity. This was literally the worst company I've ever worked for and suggest not make the same mistake.

Pros

* Endless supply of challenging, high-value customer problems to work on * Competent colleagues

Cons

* I recently joined and feel like I've run into a buzz saw where every customer engagement is a failure setup because Sales operates unchecked and the Product has severe gaps and flaws. * Support from Engineering is lacking. Eng generally seems under water and wipes their hands clean from having to help the field. * Product management is absent in the company. Major red flag for a company our size. * There's a bloated Customer Success organization whose value prop is dubious. * Senior leadership is jittery and indecisive. * Senior leadership operates in a bubble. * Based on my small but growing sample, it seems that most of the soldiers are unhappy with the generals.
