Staggering technical incompetence

Pros

Remote/hybrid working has been implemented very well here.

Cons

The level of narcissism, extremely poor technical and communication skills demonstrated by supposed lead members of the software team leaves a LOT to be desired and has lead to a blame culture, messy code that is concerning in terms of safety, zero planning and everyone being miserable in a constant state of apathy. My and multiple others mental and physical health has suffered from working at Lunar. Avoid.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. I regret that you had an experience with Lunar's UK team that was less than satisfactory, and I wish you felt empowered to discuss these concerns with our leadership directly. For those who prefer providing confidential feedback, we have an anonymous feedback channel to ensure all voices are heard. Safety, both in terms of our product and the wellbeing of our team, is a top priority and agenda item in our bi-weekly stand-ups. We're committed to fostering an environment where every team member feels supported, both mentally and physically. We have a well established wellbeing programme at Lunar UK that includes medical history disregarded private medical insurance, immediate online access to therapists, mental health first aiders, an employee lead wellbeing council and regular talks plus newsletters to ensure people have the resources they need to thrive. In certain situations, we have approved extended leaves of absence for employees to prioritise their mental well-being. While I recognise the dynamic challenges of a startup environment and that it’s not for everyone, our recent internal survey showed that our employees are deeply engaged in Lunar’s mission and overall would recommend Lunar as a place to work. However, we acknowledge there is always room for growth. We remain committed to strengthening our culture and operational practices, especially as our software team scales to serve a global customer base. Thank you for your feedback, and we wish you all the best in your future endeavours.

Pros

Lunar is a great place to work with welcoming and very intelligent employees that all have a shared environmental goal. I find the hybrid work environment gives me good flexibility and an improved work/life balance. I find my work at Lunar is very rewarding and has given me great opportunity to grow my design practice while taking on new challenges.

Cons

Hybrid work does come with it's challenges and it takes some adjustments from working alongside team members in person. This means a lot more effort needs to be put in to clear communication to ensure work runs smoothly. Especially as everything at Lunar moves very quickly.
