      Pros

      Over 10 years of working with intelligent engineers, but mostly in the first 5 years. Benefits were competitive in the beginning.

      Cons

      The leadership model of this company decouples responsibility with authority. Resource managers and people managers are from differnet business units which causes all kinds of perverse incentives an the technical staff get treated like they work at a temp to hire contracting firm. The CEO has a Napolean complex and the rest of the C-Suite seems like a bunch of corporate raiders.

      Remove work. That’s about it.

      Cons

      Poor, flippant, and contradictory messages from leadership. Unwilling to listen to employees. Feedback is censored to avoid hard questions. Very poor decisions in implementing new financial system led to poor forecasting, reducing in cutting benefits and RIF. HR leadership is lacking and there is now a culture of fear and distrust.

      Collaborative and smart colleagues, learning culture, opportunities to grow capabilities, mission-oriented focus, non-profit

      Cons

      Leadership under current CEO has been a continual revolving door, with recent lay-offs and a reorganization that is ill-timed during the COVID crisis and apparent financial health. The only people who are promoted know how to manage upward, and are not based on merit.
