MITRE reviews

Management overhead is debilitating and capricious. Department/line managers are focused "up the chain" and have little knowledge of what staff do or accomplish. Their management oversight & contribution to program delivery is limited to editorial wordsmithing. Employee evaluation and performance reviews are arbitrary and quota limited.

MITRE is distracted from their mission. MITRE is overweight on senior leadership (VP and above) that is not based in reality. They just don't get it. They talk about good pay and benefits while cutting paid time off and not coming close to last year's rate of inflation. Leadership seems distracted by programs that have nothing to do with their good mission, i.e., DEI. At the same time, the age of the average employee is decreasing. There's a reason for that. MITRE has, and will continue to lose their good talent at an accelerating rate, but I do not believe leadership cares. It's all about generating churn. Government sponsors will care when they start to take notice. Fearless Leader will be leaving the company this year, presumably by the request of the Board; that's a plus. By the way, rate MITRE with 1 star for DEI performance because MITRE's DEI does not treat all equally.
