Pros

i really like the work we do and the people at MOCA. People at MOCA seem to really care about doing good work. I trust our management team. the leaders are smart and work hard. Our new technology leader is amazing! Some of the other key executives brought on in the past year are also outstanding. They seem to manage projects and execution much better than in years past. Management team seems to work well together. We have been marketing to new markets and expanding our capabilities to include energy management. Both seem like good decisions while we continue to grow our federal government work. Pay and benefits are above average. A few years ago the company adopted blue cross blue shield based on employee feedback. I think this was based on the annual employee survey as a top priority. the current benefits plan is better than most other companies.

Cons

A few of the executives hired over the past few year didn't seem to know what they were doing, including the BD folks. I think management had to let them go, which seemed fair. I just wish these people had been more successful because the economy isn't great right now. But our team seems to keep winning new work.

Pros

Large scale government projects that gain valuable work experience Some pretty Interesting projects that will look great on project list

Cons

Management is sales driven, with no drive to satisfy the client. Often proposals are issued for tasks that they have no real ability to complete. The attitude is "Sell first, worry about delivering later" Staggering turnover of staff. The organization is very top heavy, meaning there are far too many execs and VP's than there are actual billable workers. The result is a company that has far too much overhead No raises or bonuses for non executive staff. These were eliminated so as to offer larger incentives to the management. The reasoning offered for this was that the execs are the ones who keep the company profitable. So, basically the vast number of overhead staff, who do not actually produce billable work are being given fat raises and bonues, whereas the billable workers who work long hours, and travel extensively get nothing. No recognition for a job well done.

Pros

MOCA is able to secure large contracts mostly by utilizing Executives that they hire as the person is retiring from a division of the Government. The Exec has knowledge of the upcoming need and can position MOCA to be on the bidders list,

Cons

1) Poor morale in the associates and middle management due to senior management attitudes 2) Being insulted publicly on Go To Meeting conference calls 3) Waking up every day wondering if today is your lay off day 4) Too many chiefs (very high percentage of Execs; very high overhead) there are more than what is shown on the website 5) Cancellation of Bonus plan for associates in the 4th Quarter that was retroactive to the beginning of the fiscal year so that the Executive bonuses could be paid. (No Kidding, happened in October 2010) Do not leave a good job to join this company.
