Good for midweights, career progression beyond is halted
Pros
Opportunity to work with some great people, and have fun while doing your job. The offices are fantastic, in that sense the staff are looked after. It is a great place if you are newly out of university, or looking to make a leap from Junior to midweight.
Cons
Too many politics. Its quite a passive aggressive atmosphere from exec and management and too much of a laddish culture which is quite off putting if you don't want to go down the pub every night. There is an inability to let people who are capable do their job and a lot of interference from higher up the business. There are clearly trust and control issues from management to teams. There are a few exceptions at this level, but they fighting a constant battle. If you want to progress to a senior level or beyond, and your still relatively young (but clearly capable), you will be met with unexplained barriers and little is done in terms of support to progress. At times, there is too much style over substance in new hires and probably too many junior people in the company.
