Pros
Macy's has a great deal of opportunity, it is what you make of it. It is great experience working for a large corporation. It all depends on what position you are in, stores are fun to work in but corporate is not too exciting, all depends if you are in the right position for your personality and skills. Don't work at a store if you don't like dealing with people. Customers get mad and if you can't deal with it don't work in retail.
Cons
Retail hours are never fun but you know that going in to it. Like everywhere else there are politics for promotions but you can always choose to leave if things aren't going your way. Some people have been in positions too long and lose focus and reality.
