Pros

The location was totally advantageous. The peer employees are some of the nicest people on the planet. They all, pretty much, would love to be working somewhere else if they could. The non-caring bully always takes advantage and preys upon the best of "the little people."

Cons

They are a thankless company to work for. They promise you the moon but soon abuse your kindness, generosity and good nature. The management is the biggest conglameration of robotic paranoid phonies in existence, who would slay their firstborn to get ahead; all at the the expense of everyone else. It is like a sick cult. Management has come to believe their own shallow propaganda. .

Pros

I like my co workers and I enjoy the customers at my location. The cosmetic department can be fun and rewarding especially when you made a customer happy

Cons

The pay is not good. It is hard to play with makeup when you are one pay check away from being homeless. This job is good for people who live with there parents or married ( some additional income).

Pros

Company Discount and Flexible hours

Cons

Extremely poor starting pay and pay scale. Here in Michigan until October 2014 the starting pay was 7.40 an hour (Dearborn, Michigan store) and this was for over 6 years. Then the state raised the Minimum to 8.15 an hour. Some employee who had been there 4 years was eligible to get a raise! There are people who have been there over 5 year still taking the bus for transportation. This definitely not a place to work if you have overhead bills to pay and this is for (2) basic reasons. (1). 80% of the staff is part time so no real benefits or bill paying money can be made unless it is holiday time and the raises are so low there is no real traction in the paycheck. This should be used as a job to keep some money in your pocket to pay your cell phone bill and throw a few bucks to a nagging parent, until you finally land your real job. Because there are people who have been here over 10 years and still somewhere between $10 and 11$ dollars an hour and these are employees who have earned awards for a job well done . Because of the economy there have been and is lawyers, architects and teachers working there on part time basis to make ends meet.
