      Awful Company, Please Stay Away!

      Pros

      There are no pros. This company is full of those stuck in the stone age. Masquerades as an IT shop, but truly it is a retail shop.

      Cons

      No employee loyalty. There is no opportunity for advancement. Management and directorship are a joke. This company needs to be reorganized, restructured and rebranded from the ground up. Benefits are marginal, mediocre and extremely expensive.

      From a technician's perspective

      Pros

      A lot of hands on experience with new texhnology and project work. A lot of authority and autonomy to make decisions related to technology operations in assigned stores. A wide variety of job duties working with store personnel, team members, and management. Flexible work schedule (7-4, 7:30-4:30, 8-5, etc. Up to a 6pm end time). 2 hour early release on the day before a national holiday.

      Cons

      Similar jobs in other companies (with similar job responsibilities probably pay more). Vacation and sick time were rolled together into PTO about 3 years ago, and the total time off allowed in one year for employees with less than 5 years on the job was cut in half (1-5 years OTJ= 10 days PTO). The healthcare benefits are expensive. Everyone I work with who has a spouse in a professional career, declines Macy's plan and is signed up on their spouses health plan.
