Pros

I love working for Magic Ears. At ME I am not a number like I was at VIPKID. I communicate regularly with the staff and they are always so friendly and appreciative of my hard work. I have gotten a raise since I started working and also have been awarded some secondary positions that I can do on off-peak hours, which I love. I get feedback on my teaching regularly that is helpful and that I can implement. ME is new and is growing and always improving. They want to know what they can do better and they often ask their teachers for advice. Their teachers do most of the interviewing, training, and workshops, so there is a sense of community about the company. Pay is higher here than almost anywhere else, and you will actually get bookings right away. I feel so valued at this company and can't imagine working anywhere else!

Cons

In the beginning you will not have a fully booked schedule. But as you get more experience and do well, you will get more and more bookings.

A discriminatory company

Pros

While many praise the company, there are many others that were rejected out of discrimination. Do not support countries that have discriminatory internal policies.

Cons

You will not have a chance to teach if you are a person of color, country, cowboy-ish or other ethnic looking people, or with "slight accent" that Management biased classified as a non native or neutral speaking. Do not support companies like this in our country. Stay away.

Pros

Flexible schedule and the pay is reasonable for this type of work.

Cons

Horrible staff. They are rude and have a racist mentality. I have been teaching ESL for other companies for years and never dealt with so many constant emails and messages from any company. They want you to teach like a robot. You must land on this page at this exact time. You were 30 seconds early to this page. Just too much headache for only a few classes. The teachers are not appreciated at all. You are disposable to them and it shows. They think there is an endless supply of teachers.
