Pros

Most days off approved by managers, pay is good. Financial problems brought on by bad moves like building a huge ED and the Heart Pavilion a few years ago. There has to be patients to fill them with. They just close units to compensate.

Cons

Management are puppets to the higher level of administration which doesn't help the nurses. Dangerous nurse/patient ratios. They closed half of the observation unit and there were no other jobs posted. Oh well, time to find another job. Mandatory down staffing makes it hard to feed your family. Staff education is a low priority. Most departments are really overworked and stretched to their limits.

Pros

Main Line Health is a decent place to work once you have your foot in the door. Experienced nurses and other seasoned employees offered newer employees advice and training that makes coming into work enjoyable and rewarding. Corporate training classes are offered and definitely something the company does a great job with.

Cons

High employee turn over due to lack of leadership and support from managers and directors. Consistently understaffed which becomes a patient safety problem. Management is not understanding of employee needs and gossip becomes a major issue which makes for a hostile work environment. Some team members wouldn’t talk to others and even completely ignored each other. Behavioral issues were not addressed properly and continued to occur, even in front of patients. Human Resources plays favorites and praises those team members while the other team members are routinely written up and asked/forced to work extra hours due to improper staffing. Hiring and on boarding process takes entirely too long and recruiters need more training.

Pros

Compensation, Benefits, I don't have anymore positive things to say about Bryn Mawr Hospital. If you are lucky enough to get hired, the money and benefits are good.

Cons

I am very happy to be moving on to organizations that value my skills, knowledge, and experience. I wish the organization the best with accomplishing it's mission.
