Thank you for sharing your experience. We're glad to hear that your role has given you opportunities to learn and grow — developing skills and gaining hands-on experience is something we truly value for our Patient Care Technicians. We also hear your concerns about staffing and workload. We understand that being short-staffed places extra strain on our PCTs, and this is something we're actively working to address through hiring efforts and workflow improvements. Your feedback is important as we continue to find ways to better support you and your team. We appreciate your hard work and the essential role you play in delivering quality patient care at Main Line Health.

Maternity Leave

Pros

-FMLA 12 weeks job protection

Cons

-you must use 7 days of your own PTO to start before short term disability kicks in -short term disability is either 6 or 8 weeks depending on how you deliver at 50% of your pay (60% of your pay if you elect to contribute/pay into your short term disability when selecting benefits for the year) -the remaining portion of your FMLA leave is NOT PAID. MLH says that it is paid parental bonding, but it is only paid if you have PTO to supplement.

Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback regarding our maternity leave and FMLA policies at MLH. We understand how important it is for our employees to have clear, straightforward information about leave benefits during such a significant time. We appreciate you highlighting the complexities around PTO usage, short-term disability pay, and unpaid leave during FMLA. Our goal is always to provide support and clarity, and we’re sorry to hear you had difficulty getting answers from HR. We will take this feedback seriously and work to improve communication and transparency around our maternity leave policies, ensuring that employees receive timely and clear guidance. Your input helps us identify areas for improvement, and we’re committed to making this process easier and more supportive for our team. Thank you for your dedication, and please know we value your experience and well-being.
