Pros

Hospital is beautiful. Convenient central location.

Cons

HR is shady. Recruiters have a god complex and their leadership isnt much better. Not all of them but most. Pay sucks, benefits suck. Taking PTO from employees because they made poor budget decisions. Getting rid of good people that have longevity with the company due to senior managements bad budget decisions.

MaineGeneral is the number one health system for those living in Kennebec County, Maine. The culture of this hospital and system is great, and the ongoing work to achieve quality outcomes with excellent patient experience is part of our daily work. Teammates are knowledgeable and supportive, and patients are appreciative of the hard work and communication we focus on so that all families well informed regarding their health care.

Cons

Maine is a challenging state in its weather, at times. Also, it is a rural state, that thus has economic challenges that are not easily solved. Finally, the health care business model is a bit volatile nationwide, and this challenge has MaineGeneral and the whole industry adapting to this new world at a fast pace. And this significant change in itself is both a cultural and economic challenge.
