i'm truly having a hard time finding pros about working at MaineGeneral Health. after over 6 years of being lied to not a lot of positives left.

Cons

The HR Department has an unhealthy GOD complex, and regularly uses deception to disrespect MaineGenerals Employees. Most of the people in managment and upper management have no formal education. I have never worked in a company that has so many people in Technical or Trade positions, that do not hold a degree. nepotism is truly a problem there, as pointed out by many other reviews.

-Positive, supportive, exceptional managers. -New, LEED certified hospital. -professional growth is encouraged and rewarded.

Cons

-RN ratios sometimes inappropriate, decreasing job satisfaction -The hospital uses Vocera, which are an excellent communication tool, but perhaps overuses them for monitor alarms, bed alarms, chair alarms, etc, which at times creates alarm fatigue and communication dysfunction.

Great teams that work together. Excellent patients care. Amazing work environment. Outstanding cafeteria and food. Opportunities to grow. Professional development support. Process improvement initiatives with positive outcomes and expanded training for staff in any job role. Great clinical care teams that focus on quality, safety and involving staff in decision making.

Cons

Not a Trauma center. The organization is a little smaller than the other hospitals in Maine which can be nice but also can limit your opportunities.
