In 4 years there were 4 different district managers. No stability in middle management. Expectations to compete against competitors are way too high given our stale promotions and we were usually out manned in our territories 5 -1, More concerned about reports and time tracking than actual sales. Territory managers come and go like migrant workers. Capped commissions really give you no incentive to work once you've met your sales target. Once you are a territory manager, there really isn't much room for advancement unless you want to become a district manager, which is a good old boys club. Additionally, they change the compensation plan at will to suit their needs.

Upper level management is an 11 on the micromanagement scale. Good employers trust their employees and value their individual contributions and diversity. Makita employees are constantly under the microscope and being tasked with busywork rather than growing the company.
