Pros

More time to spend with patients and a focus on wellness.

Cons

Management is top heavy, yet, often far removed from clinics. Managers are often in different states and don’t really know what goes on in health centers. Benefits are lacking; now unable to carry spouses that can get insurance through their employer. Taking time off can be difficult. Pto is capped at 120 hours and it creates problems for employees that need to take off more time or try and use it up before hitting the cap. There’s a focus on growth but they seem to neglect clinics they already have. Raises are very small. In the past wellness was paramount for customers and ambassadors, now it seems to focus on the profits.

Thank you for sharing feedback about your ambassador experience with Marathon Health. Our decision to restructure was a painful one, and leaders at every level worked hard to live our Ambassadors Code values of Integrity, Compassion, and Respect through every step of the process. We’re grateful to have a strong balance sheet and bright financial outlook for 2023. • In 2022, we covered 78% of health insurance premiums for our ambassadors, which is above the industry standard of 75%. • Every ambassador has a minimum of 15 PTO days a year, plus 7 company holidays and 1 “floating holiday” to give you some flexibility. As we move forward, we’re doing everything possible to help you and the rest of our ambassadors feel supported and fulfilled. Whenever you have ideas for improving our current processes, tools, or anything at all, please share them with your manager or department leader.

Pros

Marathon Health used to be an amazing company to work for prior to the take over. Very family oriented prior to that.

Cons

Senior management and most management lack the leadership skills and business acumen needed to make the company great again.

Pros

great clinic for patients with sufficient time to be seen. Pay is decent starting out as a new employee.

Cons

From working here I can see how providers would be happy with their jobs especially the doctors. There are a lot of pros for them. For the support staff however such as PSS /CMA/temps it is a very toxic place. A lot of pettiness amongst one another which upon my observation is a symptom from not being respected and or heard from the leaders. Leaders try to do very small things to possibly make things better only to appease employees and hush them up, until employees realize there really are no changes coming and become bitter again and treat peers accordingly. No bonuses, very little raises if you manage to get one, you have PTO available but careful if you ask to use it to much. They are very understaffed even though they claim they aren't. With that being said work/life balance is challenging/ almost non-existent. Be very careful if you upset a patient. Marathon Health will NOT stick up for you, even if you were NOT in the wrong. New staff come in earning more than previous employees that have been there for years. Only 1 manager for 6 clinics which as you can imagine makes it difficult to manage especially since that 1 manager is occupied staffing most of the time due to understaffing. About >= 10 employees left that included PA's, NP's, CMA's, RN's in a matter of months. That lead to patients being upset from lack of continuity which lead to the support staff being treated like punching bags from upset patients. They have leads in every clinic which could be an RN but most of the time a CMA. They really have no authority when it comes to making decisions or meeting the needs of the employees they are leading.

Thanks for making time to talk about the staffing issues you encountered during your time with us. I’m sorry you didn’t have a better experience, and we’re working hard to alleviate those issues for our care teams. One of our top priorities this year is filling open roles as quickly as possible to make sure everyone has the support they need to care for their patients and themselves. Thanks for your feedback and for all the contributions you made as a Marathon Health ambassador. We wish you the very best.
