Pros
Marathon Health is based in a relatively small county in Vermont with a population of 160,000. When you look around, there are really few places you can work that is large enough to allow for career growth, yet small enough to allow you to know every co-worker. I have seen, over the past 10 years, some of my previous co-workers come to Marathon Health and seem really happy about their move. Now I ask myself: why did I wait so long? While I arrived and saw many familiar faces, including at the executive level, what was different was the mantra that we should always, above all else, do the "right" thing for our customers and ambassadors. While some of my previous employers may have talked the talk on this point, Marathon Health LIVES it. From our Ambassadors Code, which promotes our 6 core company values, to the patient services we provide, this is a company of integrity and passion towards its mission to change the way healthcare should be delivered. It is so moving to see the results of our patients, that is why I now say this is the last job I will ever have, and thus, one that I will retire from!
Cons
We have so much work to do! I am sure you have witnessed, or been part of, our broken healthcare system. This is what motivates me and many of my co-ambassadors to come to work every day.
