Pros

Decent pay. Fair benefit package. Attractive looking clinic.

Cons

They advertise themselves as being supportive of employees, caring about patients. All they are interested in is money. My clinic in Las Vegas Nevada was poorly managed, and employee concerns were never addressed. "It is what it is" was the catchphrase for just about every problem brought to management's attention. They used to be ok to work for, but since Goldman Sachs invested in Marathon, it's gone way downhill.

It is our daily challenge to live up to the Ambassadors Code. We have great days and we sometimes struggle. Changing the way healthcare is delivered in the United States is no small feat. It is our privilege to serve our patients and each other--we're sorry to have let you down. Thank you for working with us! Oh, and there's no Kool-Aid to be had here. Here's a link to A Healthy Alternative to Kool Aid using organic hibiscus petals--stevia, agave or maple syrup are all preferred sweetners. Enjoy! https://youtu.be/6JVq8LbrJEA

Pros

It was rewarding to help patients navigate the healthcare system. Remote work and access to the clinics were pros.

Cons

Marathon is wanting to become another health corporation. In the last couple of years, they have become very heavy at the top but have failed to provide the support to the “ambassadors” facing the patients. They want to do more with fewer people in the positions that matter and that has affected the morale. As soon as the financial company took over, they took a different direction. They reduced the benefits that made them a great company to work for. Nowadays, you could find similar benefits or better benefits working for other companies, compensation would also be better. Leadership in the department has been in decline since last year, they made everything more difficult, and simple processes became complicated. There was a lot of confusion in the team regarding processes and insurance, and leadership failed to provide clear guidance about it. All reliable information usually came from the more experienced team members. On top of that, the same leadership that does not provide support to the team is the one that will ask you to “step up” to help. Which means that you are having to work your regular job in addition to all the other roles that they assign to you, without fair compensation for performing those roles.

Pros

Helping the patients is rewarding, there are some incredible people on this team.

Cons

We’re lacking competent leadership. One of our leaders is vacant, secretive and out of touch. She says she’s always in a meeting. The other leader they call a team lead acts like a rival, instead of a leader with her defensive attitude and inability to accept her short comings and mistakes. She is retaliatory in her behavior in assigning daily work. She’s sneaky and manipulative by assigning her work to other team members without reason or discussion. The majority of the team have secret daily/weekly discussions about her to help each other through it but we’re afraid of management and HR doesn’t care. The team lead off loads (her job) complex insurance verification processes to new hires who often time come back and provide the team with incorrect information. Our leadership is utterly out of touch.
