Pros

Flexible work schedule Remote options available In office options available

Cons

Lacking/bad company culture - very exclusive/clique-y No work/life balance, expected to work on PTO People are unfriendly and unhelpful - many team members with the mentality of "that's not my job" No actual training is provided, little to no documentation on how to do your role Senior leadership does not take feedback seriously Had massive layoff recently of business ambassadors - this was rolled out poorly - people knew about layoffs 2 weeks before they happened and there was little to no communication about it. Leadership is not transparent about the future of the company - this company will have to sell in the next year. Boasts to customer to have "No Fees" associated with Behavioral Health, yet charges a $25 co-pay to it's own employees Benefits are terrible - insurance is expensive, big out of pocket Retirement is matched, but low PTO is not enough - only 2 weeks

Thanks so much for providing your feedback. You are correct in that 7% of our workforce sadly left Marathon Health in July. While these decisions are never easy and sometimes fueled by rumors, all impacted ambassadors were met with either in person or via teams by leaders and human resources. Each was provided with an extensive communication document following the meeting to explain next steps. Remaining ambassadors had team meetings the day of the reorganization with their leader and a message from the CEO was sent out later that same day. The following day an all company meeting took place and it was followed up with a message to all ambassadors with an FAQ document. That document as well as the all company town hall talked about the reasons for the layoff and the future of the company. It was shared that the company was financially sound and there was no plans to sell.

Pros

Benefits plan, as long as you ignore the meager PTO You’ll get good experience doing a lot of jobs at once, including ones far outside of your job description.

Cons

Management is out of touch and out of control. Very petty abuses of power go uncorrected. It’s not about good patient care; that is not recognized. It’s about what the patient’s employer wants, to make them happy, and secure contract renewals for the company’s revenue. Basic needs of staff and health centers are ignored. Staffing is abysmal. Lack of regard for the people keeping the company running makes the “ambassadors first” initiative seem fake. Questions, suggestions or requests are met with hostility and retaliation, even though we’re constantly told to speak up.

Thanks for making time to talk about the staffing issues you encountered during your time with us. I’m sorry you didn’t have a better experience, and we’re working hard to alleviate those issues for our care teams. One of our top priorities this year is filling open roles as quickly as possible to make sure everyone has the support they need to care for their patients and themselves. Thanks for your feedback and for all the contributions you made as a Marathon Health ambassador.
