      A work place that cares about their employees and the patients served

      Pros

      Work/life balance. Time spent with pts. Being able to focus on patients health without the billing or production part. Culture is great, employees are considered ambassadors and there’s a sense of belonging and inclusiveness.

      Cons

      Occasional conflict with contractors expectations with managed health . Although the company offers great support, being remote to main office may feel too remote to connect with others.

      focused on health not health care

      Pros

      in many of the conversations about physician burnout, much boils down to this: the best way to avoid burning out health care workers is to support them in caring for people (ie the reason why they got into health care.) Marathon gets this and has created an organization that is focused on health and wellbeing as priority one--trusting that with the right structures, areas of focus the performance of the business (health indicators and finance) will work well. A breath of fresh air for clinicians who want to work with people on improving their health in a holistic way, and in the course of doing the work, employees feel valued as individuals.

      Cons

      because it's a small company with locations nationwide, it can take some getting used to for physicians used to working in a practice or health system with a large footprint in a small geographic area. I am relatively new to company so have limited experiences to base on which to base my survey results.
