Great Vision, Great Company, But...

Pros

The mission, vision and work that we executed was commendable and admirable. I actually felt like we were making a difference in people's lives and it was proving true. Leadership was attentive to the needs of people who worked in the health centers and the corporate office. Your team lead makes or breaks your experience. Benefits were great but pay was mediocre and below average.

Cons

Pay was mediocre and ability to move up the ladder was nearly impossible. My manager was atrocious, vindictive and, honestly, more caught up in their education status and putting people in their place rather than building people up. Managing-up was nearly impossible and there was a back-stabby element to some people in the corporate office but certainly not in the health centers. Felt like there was tons of drama from some of the middle-management folks. Culture is borderline toxic in the office and some very mean-spirited people work here although the vision of the founder and the CEO are solid. I was underpaid, under-appreciated and overworked. However, some people have flourished there but I did not see real career growth or opportunity for advancement which is both a good and bad thing.

Pros

1. Some dedicated frontline healthcare providers who still try to put patients first. 2. If you're in a top-tier client category, you may still receive decent service. 3. Some good benefits, though they’ve declined since the merger.

Cons

If you're considering working for Marathon Health, think twice. And if you're a company looking to partner with them, look elsewhere (at least until they sell again and better leaders fix things). 1. Since merging with OurHealth, things declined. Since merging with Everside Health, they’ve collapsed. Marathon Health in name only—Everside runs the show now. 2. Employees are treated like numbers rather than valued professionals. 3. Burnout is high, and leadership is disconnected from frontline staff. 4. Clients are now tiered based on how much they pay. If your company isn’t in the highest-paying tier, expect reduced strategic support and less customization than what Marathon Health once offered. 5. Cost-cutting over patient care. 6. Service quality has taken a backseat to profits, leading to high turnover, staffing shortages, and a decline in the patient experience. 7. Broken promises. What is sold to both employees and clients often doesn’t match reality. 8. If you are not a big name client, look elsewhere as these guys will promise the world but give you a lemon.
